Meeting two of our ‘Making the Move’ midwifery workshop facilitators

Sarah and Natalie in front of a making the move workshop presentation

Sarah Jones: Has dual registration qualifying as a Nurse in 1991 and then a Midwife in 1994. Working within both hospital and community settings: – from complex high dependency to Midwife-led care, working within both the hospital and community setting. This has included managing Midwife teams and setting up services for women. I now work as an Independent Midwife within Wales and the English county border. I continue to support IMUK through my PMA work.

Natalie Dorchester: With over 20 years of experience, first as a mother and doula, and now as an Independent midwife. I am passionate about birth being a sacred rite of passage within a normal life event rather than a medical procedure, a woman’s body is designed to give birth. I joined IMUK straight from being a student and have never been employed by the NHS.

IMUK members are from a range of backgrounds and experiences. We try to offer different perspectives of Independent Midwifery to our ‘Making the Move’ midwifery workshops so applicants can meet facilitators who have lived and worked both within the city and rural environments. Sarah and Natalie are two, who bring different experiences, skill sets, and knowledge which is invaluable and shared in our workshops and through our membership.

Next Workshop: 6th December 2024 in LONDON
