I qualified in 1990 as a midwife and I am still just as passionate about my job as I was when I started.

I trust in and respect a woman’s innate power and strength, and her baby’s wisdom during birth; which I believe is a simple yet profound every day miracle.

I choose to practice as an independent midwife in order to provide women with a bespoke birth service in line with an individual’s needs and choices and to work in partnership with families, supporting them on their journey from start to finish.

I love the challenge of working with women who want choices that wouldn’t be as easily be supported within the NHS, and prefer to believe all choices are possible until proven otherwise.

I have also helped women and sometimes their partners deal with fears by debriefing difficult past experiences surrounding birth. I consider this an essential part of a women’s pregnancy journey, and my role as her midwife.

I am experienced in home birth, water birth, vaginal birth after caesarean, lotus birth, and can support breech and twin birth together with a colleague.
